Dr. Erica Herron

PT, DPT, CLT

Physical Therapist

I have been practicing PT since graduating with my MPT from Washington University in St. Louis in 2002 and also earned my DPT from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012 with a research focus on rehabilitation after breast cancer. This led to interests and pursuits of further certifications and practice in pelvic health, pregnancy and postpartum, and lymphedema since 2014.

I have practiced in the outpatient orthopedic setting for 22 years, and for the last 10 years I have specialized in the treatment of the pelvic floor, pregnancy and postpartum, and breast cancer care. I enjoy helping pregnant and postpartum moms navigate their changing bodies, whether they are having pain, urinary issues, or just want to have someone guide them after their 6-week return visit to strengthen their pelvic floor and abdominals and progress back to activity. As a runner myself, I love helping postpartum moms return to activity and running safely.

In addition, I work with individuals with pelvic floor dysfunction leading to pelvic or abdominal pain, prolapse, or incontinence. I also work with athletes with pubic symphysis/pelvic/abdominal pain, leakage with running/sport, and hip or low back pain with pelvic floor contributing factors. My other areas of treatment are movement impairment syndromes, lymphedema, and rehabilitation post-orthopedic surgery, athletic injuries, and cancer treatment.

I have been involved in a breast cancer program that followed women from before surgery to ending treatment, which showed to be of great benefit to the patient as they transitioned into survivorship. I have had my own personal experience with breast cancer and really have a heart for helping women on their journey, whether at the beginning of treatment or years down the road. I also treat pelvic floor oncology (prostate, uterine, ovarian), pregnancy and postpartum, and individuals with pelvic floor dysfunction leading to pelvic or abdominal pain, prolapse, or incontinence.

My core values are: Faith, Truth, and Courage

Favorite quote:

“But if not…”

I specialize in physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction, lymphedema, and oncology rehabilitation.

I think it is sad that so many people do not know about pelvic floor therapy and do not know that they do not just have to live with their problems. Or they are too embarrassed to talk about pelvic issues. I want them to feel comfortable knowing I am not going to judge them and I will listen and want to help.

I love the individualized treatment we are able to give each patient and the extensive training we receive to be able to provide the best care.

Testimonials

I spent lots of time and money on three other physical therapists before I went to Restore Your Core. After seeing Amy and Meredith, I feel the best I have felt in 8 years, and I finally have relief from enduring pain. These professionals are true experts in their field. Not only are they very knowledgeable and skilled, but they are also friendly, kind, and encouraging.

I have several issues that have caused me to have a limited quality of life for the past 17 years. I have been to numerous doctors and very well-known medical facilities across the US. Going to Restore Your Core has changed my life. I have decreased my pain medications significantly, and my quality of life has changed from watching others live their lives to thriving in my own life. I can’t say enough positive things about this group of gifted medical professionals. This is my wish for you: go to Restore Your Core, open your mind to what they tell you, do your at-home therapy between your appointments, and believe your life can change too.

Dr. Robinson has changed my life! Countless doctors and specialists told me for years to “live with it” or just tried to prescribe medication and Bandaid fixes. Dr. Robinson spent time with me and did a thorough analysis, then created a treatment plan that has drastically improved my overall wellbeing. She provides tools to equip you to better understand your issues and resolve them as they may arise. I highly recommend Restore Your Core!
