Dr. Hannah Schoening

PT, DPT, CLT

Physical Therapist

Dr. Hannah was born and raised in small-town Danville, IN, where she grew up dabbling in the performing arts of dance. It was there that one of her dance instructors noticed Hannah’s ability to study her classmates’ movement to help them improve their ballet technique and alignment, not unlike physical therapists do each and every day. Dr. Hannah went on to pursue a Bachelor’s of Human Biology with a pre-PT focus and a minor in contemporary dance at Indiana University. While obtaining her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, Hannah’s world was forever changed when she learned that physical therapists could indeed treat the muscles of the pelvic floor! She felt she had finally found her calling in that specialty when she discovered the sources of her own pelvic floor dysfunction, and she loves how she can continuously grow and expand her knowledge of the pelvic floor throughout the lifespan.

Dr. Hannah’s patients share that Hannah is extremely caring and compassionate, detail-oriented, and is not afraid to untangle dysfunction layer by layer. Her approach integrates manual therapy to reduce pain and restore mobility, followed by step by step building towards a patient’s goals, whether that be returning to fitness postpartum, recovering to prior level of function after surgery, or managing chronic pain and/or illness. Hannah trains her patients by drawing on her experiences as a dancer and certified fitness instructor of indoor cycling, aerobics, barre, and yoga to optimize alignment and build holistic health and well-being for long-term patient success. Hannah is dry needling certified, is working towards her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification, and is specialized in lymphatic drainage massage for conditions such as prenatal edema and oncology.

Outside of the clinic, you will find Hannah volunteering her time with non-profit dance schools such as The Children’s Ballet, gardening for her favorite veggies and flowers, watching and learning new skills from YouTube, and spending time with her spouse and high school sweetheart, Steven, her son, Kurt, and her growing family and two dogs, Barney and Ajax.
