Dr. Hannah Schoening

PT, DPT, CLT

Physical Therapist

I was born and raised in the small town of Danville, Indiana, where I grew up involved in the performing arts through dance. One of my dance instructors noticed my ability to study my classmates’ movement and help improve their ballet technique and alignment — not unlike what physical therapists do every day.

I went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with a pre-PT focus and a minor in contemporary dance at Indiana University. While obtaining my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, my world was forever changed when I learned that physical therapists could treat the muscles of the pelvic floor. I felt I had finally found my calling in that specialty when I discovered the sources of my own pelvic floor dysfunction, and I continue to enjoy growing and expanding my knowledge of the pelvic floor throughout the lifespan.

Treatment Approach

My patients often describe me as caring, compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to untangling dysfunction layer by layer. My approach integrates manual therapy to reduce pain and restore mobility while helping patients build step by step toward their goals, whether that means returning to fitness postpartum, recovering after surgery, or managing chronic pain and illness.

Drawing from my background as a dancer and certified fitness instructor in indoor cycling, aerobics, barre, and yoga, I help patients optimize alignment and support long-term health and well-being. I am dry needling certified, currently working toward my Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification, and specialize in lymphatic drainage massage for conditions such as prenatal edema and oncology.

Outside the Clinic

Outside of the clinic, I like volunteering with nonprofit dance schools such as The Children’s Ballet, gardening my favorite vegetables and flowers, watching and learning new skills on YouTube, and spending time with my spouse and high school sweetheart, Steven, my son, Kurt, my growing family, and our two dogs, Barney and Ajax.
