Dr. Meredith Salas

PT, DPT, IMH-C

Physical Therapist

I grew up in Fishers, Indiana, and graduated from FHS before completing both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Indianapolis. I am familiar with much of the east side of Indiana, where I currently live, and have spent a great deal of time commuting throughout the area for school and previous jobs.

I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 2018 and began my career working with both orthopedic patients and female pelvic health patients. In 2020, I began treating male pelvic health patients and have continued to develop my skills through direct mentorship with Dr. Robinson since joining Restore Your Core Physical Therapy in 2021. I am also currently working toward a fertility certification to better support patients undergoing fertility treatment.

Clinical Focus

As a physical therapist, I work closely with patients on the frontlines of care. I am currently pursuing additional training in fertility support to help optimize health for fertility and support patients in getting and staying pregnant. I also especially enjoy treating male patients, including those with pelvic, back, and groin pain, as well as constipation, allowing me to work with a wide variety of presentations.

One of the things I value most is taking a step back and looking at the whole picture. I often see patients who feel like they have had to see multiple providers for each individual piece of their health “puzzle,” when really it can be much more effective to identify the root cause that is impacting multiple areas. I appreciate that at Restore Your Core Physical Therapy, we are able to treat the whole body, not just one body part.

Conditions I Enjoy Treating

I enjoy treating pelvic pain in both female and male patients, especially chronic pain. I was inspired to enter the physical therapy field after watching my own father experience chronic pain and benefit from physical therapy. That experience shaped my understanding of how deeply chronic pain can affect a person’s life.

Chronic pain often involves both physical and emotional components, and I enjoy working collaboratively with patients to understand their condition, improve their quality of life, and support a more positive outlook on their health.

Why I Love Working at Restore Your Core Physical Therapy

I love getting one-on-one time with all my patients. I enjoy meeting and building relationships with new people, and it is easy to do when we get to spend quality time together without interruptions or being out in a gym setting where there is less privacy.

I also love that the business is not part of a large corporation. If I want to pick my boss’s brain about a challenging diagnosis or a unique presentation, she is easy to reach. We also have a great team of other PTs who are always willing to help out or give a second opinion if I find myself stuck thinking through a patient case.

Outside the Clinic

When I’m not working, I like to spend time outdoors with my kids and husband, read a good novel, or play video games. My family are all big Legend of Zelda fans—my husband’s proposal and wedding ring incorporate the video game franchise, and my son is named after the protagonist of the series! We all enjoy tabletop games as well, with Uno being a family favorite, but we’ll try just about any board or card game. Just know my kids got my competitive spirit, so they will show no mercy!
